Wema NMEA2000 Inline Terminator
Wema NMEA2000 female connector
An NMEA2000 network requires terminating resistors at both ends.
To terminate or close the NMEA 2000 network, a terminating resistor should be installed on one side of a T-connector.
A female connector and a male connector are required for a proper NMEA2000 installation.
The inline terminating resistor can be used at the end of an NMEA2000 backbone to terminate the backbone and still allows a single device to be used after the inline terminating resistor without a T-connector and standard terminating resistor.
For example, it can be used to connect a compatible NMEA2000 device at the top of a sailboat mast.
The inline terminating resistor functions like a normal terminating resistor and terminates the NMEA2000 network.
It also functions properly as a terminating resistor when nothing is connected at the other end of the inline terminating resistor.
